About the Author
Kenneth Cary is a decorated army officer who served at home and abroad for twenty-two years. His experience in troubled regions gave him valuable insight into how people react to survival situations.
Now a private disaster preparedness consultant, Kenneth impresses the importance of personal and family preparedness. In doing so, he realized the best way to communicate the need for preparation was through narrative.
A fan of post-apocalyptic disaster fiction, Ken has read almost everything the genre has to offer, but his decision to write Curtain Fall grew out of his private consultations. Very draggy in parts and found myself skipping over pages. There are several books covering the same idea. I would not put this book at top of the list. I found the price unacceptable when compared to other books in $2.99 price range (one Second After, CyberStorm and others). It's full of ideas and details, maybe too much detail. The story was interesting but it couldn't pull me in for all the distractions. Maybe the next one...

Not worth the time

Book reads like a monologue or maybe a list. Poorly constructed plot was basically same rehash of same old same old. Amazing how little the primary character cared about getting insulin for his daughter was an after thought very late in the game. Overall I would not recommend to this book to anyone

Waste of $5.95

For me, personally, this book was a total waste of money and time. The author had an interesting idea on a world changing event, other than that, it was mostly a flop. The main character is supposed to be a retired Army officer with command experience. As he was written he was a total wimp. I seriously doubt anyone who is as conflicted as the main character is presented could survive a drive downtown, let alone a world changing event. I have never understood the idea that 90% of the USA population is destroyed, but that God has a plan for saving one man and his family. It might make more sense to place this book in the religious section, not the EOTWAWKI. If this work were priced at say 99 cents it might have been worth it, however, it wouldn't give you back the wasted hours it took to slog through it.
