A MUST READ!!!!

More of a booklet that book, but very informative and enlightening. My son was a domestic adoption, but years in foster care took its toll. We just received our diagnosis of RAD and this book was highly recommended by the dr who made the diagnosis. I was totally unaware of anything RAD, mainly because the diagnosis was not a part of my son's child life history and I did not know to research RAD. In reading this book, I see that RAD is a part of EVERY adopted child's life and that RAD children can be parented.....just in a different way. I love Essie Johnson's parenting methods and am putting them ot good use. If you are an adoptive parent, this is a MUST READ!!!! Believe me, I thought I was crazy until I read this book and started researching RAD.... Now I feel like I'm just one of the sisterhood of RAD moms. Thank You Essie!!!

Great quick read

Great quick read. It is from a mother's perspective which is important to know. There isn't a lot of clinical language which I like. I work in the mental health field, working with parents of special needs children who are going through a crisis time period. This is a must read for any family member of someone who has RAD or has a child with RAD. I would see it also helpful for teachers, mental health professionals and other service providers.

Very informative!

I read this book in order to better understand my neice who was adopted and has RAD. This was an insightful, compelling, and inspirational read. I highly recommend it to anyone who has or knows a child like this.
