A quick read but good coverage of depression and anxiety attacks..

In my endless endevor towards losing weight and being more healthier and fitter, I get that there may be other factors other than nutrition and exercise. This is why I went to purchase this book as I know that having a healthy mind and managing emotions are also key. I don’t think I’m depressed (not that much anyways) but this book is important in identifying certain flags that I need to keep a check on.

Other than the usual coverage of the types of depression, the book covers what are the trigger factors, symptoms and the length of the occurance for each type of depression. It also goes in detail on the causes for depression. I’ve discovered that it may not always be a mental or emotional, the cause can be genetic or physical too. The tips for treating depression are typical and can be found on the net but having it collated in one handy guide is a livesaver for me. The tips include having a more positive outlook, being physically active and also some natural treatments such as taking in foods that has naturally occuring vitamins, magnesium as well as herbal teas. The book also covers managing anxieties which may relate to depression. All in all, I like the content found in the book.

I know many friends who have struggled with both of these disorders for years. I now feel like I have done them a disservice as I had never truly understood their plight.

After reading this Great Book from Quan, I see them in a different light. I hope to be able to be there as a better friend for them in times of need and to be a reliable source of comfort when they call upon me.
